Thought for the day

I judge from your letter that in Venezuela you are teased badly if you are a professor and you say you don't know or are not sure. I am glad that I am not so teased because I am sure of nothing and find myself having to say "I don't know" very often. After all, I was born not knowing and have only had a little time to change that here and there.

Who we are and what we do

Troop 828, which was started on February 11, 1991, currently has about 60 scouts and 30 registered adult leaders.  It is chartered by St. Laurence Catholic Parish in Sugar Land, Texas. Troop 828 is committed to instilling in the youth of our troop the values of the Scout Oath and Law, teaching them to become exemplary citizens of the community and leaders of the future.  And we all---adults and scouts---have a lot of fun!

Troop meetings are held three times a month on Monday nights at the church Parish Hall. The Troop Committee usually meets on the last Monday night of the month.  Every year the troop develops a calendar of activities reflecting the interests of the scouts, with a focus on camping and developing scouting skills.  We have a weekend campout about once a month, a week-long winter camp in December, and a week-long summer camp in June or July.  You can see the kinds of things we've done in the last couple of years at our Troop Events page.
